Patch notes

What changes in Curator, version after version. The Curator app installs each new version by itself.

Curator 1.9.0

Quests, achievements and the talent tree

This update doubles the quests of the collector, opens a real war of PvP quests, adds 109 achievements and gives the talent tree the look of the one of the game.

Highlights

  • Mandatory update: 1.9.0 replaces 1.8.0, which stops working. The Curator app installs it for you.
  • 10 quests a day, 5 a week, 3 a month, and many more kinds of quests.
  • PvP quests galore: 5 a day, 3 a week and 2 a month, with points on the booster bar and boosters to choose.
  • New quests at 5:00 in the morning (Paris time) every day, on Wednesday for the week, on the first of the month for the month: the same moment for everyone.
  • 109 new achievements (347 in all) and two new categories: Quests and PvP.
  • Three new titles of prestige: Questmaster, Warbringer and Executioner.
  • The talent tree takes the look of the one of the game.
  • The booster bar sounds like a quest done when it gives you a booster.

The quests

  • Daily: 10 quests a day (5 before), 200 XP and 25 points on the booster bar each.
  • Weekly: 5 quests a week (3 before), 1,200 XP and a booster of a zone to choose each.
  • Monthly: 3 quests a month (1 before), 6,000 XP and 3 boosters of a zone to choose each.
  • New kinds of quests: defeat creatures of a type (beasts, humanoids, undead, elementals, demons, dragonkin), elite or rare creatures in the world, add new cards to your albums, get cards of rare rarity or better, thunderforged or titanforged cards, sign exchange contracts, get stamps on your loyalty card, visit new inns, play the innkeeper's bet, earn collector experience, discover new places, open boosters of a dungeon or a raid.
  • New quests come at 5:00 in the morning (Paris time): every day for those of the day, on Wednesday for those of the week, on the first of the month for those of the month. The same moment for every player.
  • A section of more than five quests shows them on rows: the period of each quest on the right, in its colour, and the note of the section behind the i button next to its title.
  • Your quests of 1.8.0 still running stay: the new ones join them.

Developers' notes: more quests, and more varied ones: there is now something to do every day, whatever the way you play.

The PvP quests

Many PvP players are collectors too: they now have their own war of quests, as soon as a character of your account reaches level 10.

  • 5 quests a day (400 XP and 25 points on the booster bar each), 3 a week (2,500 XP and a booster of a zone to choose each) and 2 a month (8,000 XP and 2 boosters of a zone to choose each).
  • What they ask: honorable kills (in the battlegrounds or outside them), win or finish battlegrounds, win in a given battleground, defeat enemies of a class, of a race, of a rank or of level 60, have trophies certified, add new combatants to your PvP album, achieve exploits, take revenges, claim bounties, collect your pay, bring down the enemy of the wanted poster or a head with a price.
  • An enemy counts for his class, his race or his level once the game has shown him to you: your target, your mouse, his nameplate.

The achievements

  • 109 new achievements (347 in all) and two new categories.
  • Quests: the quests of the collector done (up to 2,500), those of the day, the week, the month, the dungeons and the raids, every quest of a day, a week or a month done in time, and the collector level, from 10 to 60.
  • PvP: the PvP achievements of 1.8.0 find many new ones there: honorable kills (up to 10,000), trophies certified, battlegrounds finished and won, each battleground, the kills in the battlegrounds and outside them, every class and every race of the enemy, officers, commanders and the highest rank, enemies of level 60, the times you fell, and the PvP quests.
  • And also: the boosters of dungeons and raids opened, 5, 15 and 40 albums complete, more rounds at the inn and two secret PvP achievements.
  • Three new titles of prestige: Questmaster (1,000 quests), Warbringer (250 battlegrounds won) and Executioner (10,000 honorable kills).
  • Those you have already reached are given at your first login, without an announcement for each: a line in the chat counts them. The quests, the battlegrounds, the classes and races of the enemies and the times you fell count from 1.9.0 on.

The talent tree

  • The tree takes the look of the one of the game: the art of your specialization behind it, each talent in its slot and its rank in the small box at its corner.
  • Green: a point can go there. Gold: every rank. Grey: not open yet.
  • The arrows lead to the talents that need another one.
  • Place your points, then Apply changes (two clicks): once applied, they stay.

Other changes

  • A booster given by the booster bar comes with the sound of a quest done.
  • A quest completed by the cards of a booster waits for the end of the booster to say so: no more spoiled surprise.

Curator 1.8.0

Inns, PvP and the front of the collectors

This update ends the beta of Curator. It brings Curator into the inns and onto the battlegrounds, launches the front of the collectors with the Curator website and app, and adds duels with a stake.

Highlights

  • End of the beta: this version no longer stops at a date, and your collection stays as it is.
  • Mandatory update: 1.8.0 replaces every version before it, which stop working. From now on, every new version will be mandatory.
  • Pioneer: an achievement for everyone who plays Curator before WoW Forever comes out, on November 4, 2026.
  • The inns of Azeroth: a loyalty card, a travel passport and the loyalty of each innkeeper, with his rumors, his bets and his rounds.
  • PvP: your honorable kills become the cards of the combatants you defeated, and the battlemasters keep a war board.
  • The front of the collectors: every week, side against side, on the Curator website.
  • Duels with a stake: a card each, the winner takes both.
  • The Curator website and app: your collection online, and the app that sends it there and keeps Curator up to date.
  • 39 new achievements (238 in all).
  • Mark all as seen: one button takes the pennants off all your new cards at once.

End of the beta

  • Curator leaves its beta: this version no longer stops at a date, and your collection stays as it is.
  • 1.8.0 is mandatory: the versions before it stop working as soon as they learn it is out.
  • From now on, every new version will be mandatory. The Curator app installs it for you.
  • The testers of the beta keep their Beta tester achievement.

Pioneer

  • Everyone who plays Curator before WoW Forever comes out, on November 4, 2026, becomes one of its Pioneers: an achievement, earned at login.
  • Its flag shows in your tooltip, for you and for the other players.
  • It stays with your collection, even if it starts over.

Developers' notes: thank you to everyone who brings Curator to life before the game is even out. After November 4, this achievement can no longer be earned.

The inns

Talk to an innkeeper: the lines of Curator appear under his own options. Azeroth has 47 inns.

  • The loyalty card: one stamp a day, at any innkeeper. At the seventh stamp, a booster of the album of his inn, and the card starts again.
  • The travel passport: a visa for each inn you visit. 10 inns give you a zone booster to choose, 25 inns two, every inn of Azeroth three.
  • The loyalty of each innkeeper: passing guest, regular (5 stamps), pillar of the bar (10), then friend of the house (20). At that rank, he signs his own card for you: a copy that no trade and no contract can take.
  • The rumor of the day: an innkeeper you are a regular of points you to a creature of his album that your collection lacks. All day long, its card drops twice as often from it.
  • The innkeeper's bet: once a day, stake a duplicate. He lays three cards of his album face down, two of the same rarity and one of the rarity above. The one you turn over is yours.
  • Your home inn (the one of your hearthstone) counts every stamp double for loyalty. On Friday evenings, the stamp of the day counts double on the card. And two collectors at the same innkeeper can raise a toast: one more stamp each, once a day.
  • Everything is in the Inns tab of the album, or with /curator inns.

Developers' notes: a tour of the inns of Azeroth takes some planning. The stamps, the visas and the loyalty belong to your account, like your collection.

PvP

  • Each honorable kill becomes a trophy: the defeated player, as the game showed him to you (his race, his class, his level, his rank).
  • Show your trophies to a battlemaster: he certifies them, and each becomes the card of that combatant in your PvP album. Its rarity depends on his rank: common for a private, mythic for a grand marshal or a high warlord.
  • The same combatant defeated again and again: his card becomes thunderforged at 10 kills, titanforged at 25.
  • The war board, at the battlemaster: your pay of the week (boosters to choose by your PvP rank, with 5 honorable kills in the week), three bounties a week, and the wanted poster, the highest-ranked enemy met in the last days. Bring him down within the week: his bounty is worth 2 boosters.
  • Revenges and nemesis: bring down the one who just brought you down within 15 minutes for a revenge. The enemy who brought you down most often becomes your nemesis.
  • The exploits of the battlegrounds (a victory, an objective, a defense, in Warsong Gulch, Arathi Basin and Alterac Valley) become cards.
  • Each battleground has its album of the enemy faction: a place for each of its races and classes. Complete, it gives you 3 boosters to choose.
  • Your own combatant card, made your way (your outfit, the scene behind you, a finish earned by your combatants): the other collectors see it in your profile.
  • Everything is in the PvP tab of the album, or with /curator pvp.

The front of the collectors

  • Every week, the honorable kills and the exploits of the collectors who play with the Curator app add up on the website, side against side, for each region of the game.
  • The side ahead at the end of the week gives one more booster to each of its characters who fought for it that week (at least one honorable kill or one exploit), to claim from a battlemaster.
  • The heads with a price: the enemies who brought down the most collectors. Bring one down within the week and claim his bounty from a battlemaster.
  • The front shows in the PvP tab of the album (or /curator front), at the battlemasters and on the website. Its news comes into the game with the app, signed by the website: news that does not come from the website is not taken into account.

Duels with a stake

  • Target a collector and type /curator duel (or right-click him: Duel with a stake).
  • Each puts up a duplicate copy, of the same rarity and the same finish.
  • Fight the duel: the stake of the loser goes to the winner, like a trade, checked like all the others.
  • With no duel within half an hour, the stakes are released.

The Curator website and app

  • The Curator website is online. Sign in with Battle.net: your collection gets its own page (your cards, your albums, your rank, your journal), with the rankings, the latest finds and the front of the collectors.
  • The Curator app for Windows, to download from the website, installs Curator, keeps it up to date (each version is signed by its author), sends your collection to your page after each game and keeps a backup of it online. It is also what brings the news of the front into the game.
  • Without the app, a large part of Curator does not work: the mandatory updates do not install themselves, the front stays silent, your page is not updated and your collection has no backup. At your first login, a window tells you so and gives you the address of the app (/curator site to see it again).

Developers' notes: the website finally lets you show your collection outside the game. Share your page!

Other changes

  • 39 new achievements (238 in all): the inns, PvP, the duels, the front and Pioneer.
  • Mark all as seen: at the bottom of the contents page of the album, a new button takes the red pennant off all your new cards at once, in all your albums. Thanks for the suggestion!
  • No more previews: /curator test is gone, the cards are discovered by playing.
  • Talents: First Reading takes the place of Reading the Backs, whose light of the cards face down the mouse already gave. The cards of your boosters that your album is missing now give 25% more experience. The point placed in this talent stays.
  • Fixed: the booster bar above the experience bar did not take its whole width (ticks outside the frame, spark far from the fill, text off-centre).

Curator 1.7.0

The new dungeons of WoW Forever

This update adds the four new dungeons of WoW Forever to your albums, prepares the arrival of the Curator website and strengthens the protection of the collections.

Highlights

  • 4 new albums: the Hall of the Thanes, the Ruins of Lordaeron, the Excavations: the Downs and the city of Dalaran. 97 new cards, for 69 albums and 7,317 cards in all.
  • 4 new achievements (197 in all), one for each new album.
  • The code of your collection: /curator export shows it, to paste on the Curator website.
  • Protection of the collections: a save edited outside the game now suspends Curator.

The new dungeons

  • The Hall of the Thanes (12 cards), the Ruins of Lordaeron (30), the Excavations: the Downs (23) and the city of Dalaran (32).
  • Each album has its booster sealed with chains, its opening, its music and its mood: the dust of the tombs of the thanes, the will-o'-the-wisps of the Ruins of Lordaeron, the arcane glow of Dalaran.
  • The last boss of each dungeon is its mythic card, and each dungeon has its legendary card.
  • Their boosters are earned like those of the other dungeons.
  • The contents page of the album is laid out differently to make room for them: its first page now goes up to level 25 (levels 1 to 25, 25 to 50, then 50 to 60 with the raids).
  • 4 new achievements, one for each album completed (197 in all).

Developers' notes: WoW Forever opened four new dungeons, and they deserved their albums. Good hunting to those who want to complete them first.

The code of your collection

  • Type /curator export (or /curator share): a window shows the code of your collection, already selected. Copy it (Ctrl+C) to paste it on the Curator website.
  • This code holds your character, your collection, your collector level, your achievements and the story of your finest cards.
  • The story of your finest cards: every card rare or better, and every thunderforged or titanforged copy, is noted when it arrives, with where it came from (a booster, a creature, a contract, a trade...).
  • The game also writes this code in your save each time it saves, for the Curator app.

Developers' notes: the Curator website is coming soon. You will be able to show your collection there, browse it album by album and find it again on any PC.

Protection of the collections

  • Your save is sealed each time the game saves. From now on, a save edited outside the game suspends Curator: a window explains it at login, the album no longer opens, and nothing more is earned or traded.
  • To play again, the collection starts over: the button of the window, or /curator reset confirm.
  • While the game runs, the collection is out of reach of the commands typed in the chat (/run).

Developers' notes: a collection is earned in the game. Those who play normally will never see this window.

Curator 1.6.0

The talents of the collector

This update adds the talents: each collector level earns you a talent point, and from level 10, you choose a specialization for your whole account.

Highlights

  • Talents: one point per collector level, 60 points at level 60.
  • Three specializations: the Tracker, the Dealer and the Augur, each with its tree of 7 tiers.
  • A choice that matters: the specialization is chosen at level 10, and changing it takes a retraining contract.
  • 3 new achievements (193 in all), each with its prestige title.

The talents

  • Each collector level gives you a talent point. The points earned before level 10 wait for you.
  • At level 10, open the new Talents tab of the album (or type /curator talents) and choose your specialization. It holds for your whole account and the choice is final. Before that, you can look at the three trees in detail.
  • Each tree has 7 tiers and 75 ranks, more than your 60 points: you will have to make choices. A tier opens once 6 more points are spent in the tiers before it, and the last talent takes 36 points.
  • Some talents come in pairs: you choose one or the other.
  • Click to place a point, right-click to take it back, then Apply (two clicks). Once applied, the points stay.
  • A badge on the tab counts your points to place.

Retraining contract

  • To change your specialization or place your points again, sign a retraining contract.
  • It is paid in tradable copies, the least precious first, by their value in trades. One copy of each card always stays in your album.
  • It costs 1,000 the first time, then doubles with each retraining (32,000 at most), and goes down a step for each month without retraining.

Developers' notes: we wanted each collector level to really count, and your specialization to say what kind of collector you are. Changing your mind is still possible, but it has a price.

Tracker

Tracks the cards on creatures and fills the booster bars faster.

  • Better chances to find the card of the creatures you defeat: rare creatures, elites, bosses, legendary and mythic cards.
  • More points on your booster bars: elites, quests turned in, gathering, dungeons and raids.
  • Tracking: the tooltip of a creature shows the rarity of its card, and whether your album lacks it.
  • Instinct (active): for 30 minutes, your chances to find cards are doubled. It is used from the talents page, from the button at the end of the booster bar, or with /curator instinct.
  • Beaten path: your fifth booster of the day from the world bar comes with a second one.
  • Scout: the first time a character completes a dungeon or a raid, he gets two boosters of that place instead of one.
  • Dungeon regular: 6 dungeon and raid boosters a day instead of 5.
  • Last talent, Prey of the day: each day, the first elite you defeat (bosses aside) whose card your album lacks gives you its card.

Dealer

Lives off contracts and trades.

  • Contracts that ask for fewer cards, that sometimes give back half of their cards, and that more often give a thunderforged or titanforged card, or one your album lacks.
  • In batches: up to 10 contracts at once. Bulk deals: when you sign 5 or more at once, each one sometimes gives one more card.
  • New buttons on the scroll of the contract: Favor contract (a contract of 5 cards), Custom contract (you choose the album of the new card) or Alchemist, and Master stroke.
  • Second chance: once a day, after a contract, draw one of its cards again.
  • Rewards for your trades: points on the bar, experience, and a booster to choose for a trade with a new partner.
  • Appraisal: the tooltip of a card shows its value in a trade.
  • Network: you are told when a player looks for a card you can trade.
  • Last talent, Master stroke: once a week, a contract can go up two rarities instead of one, up to legendary.

Augur

Reads the boosters.

  • Better chances of rare, epic, legendary and mythic cards, more thunderforged and titanforged cards, more experience per card.
  • Reading the backs: face down, the cards glow with the color of their rarity, and the new ones already wear their tag.
  • Omen (active): a button under the booster reveals the color of its best card. Open it, or shake it to draw it again.
  • Redraw (active): after a booster, draw one of its cards again.
  • Winds of the lands: now and then, an 11th card in your zone boosters. Or Echo of the depths: a 6th card in your dungeon and raid boosters.
  • Recycling, New deal and Memory of the cards: fewer duplicates, more of the cards you lack.
  • Foresight: your zone boosters to choose can go to the album of a dungeon you know.
  • Last talent, Favor of the stars: your first booster of the day holds one more card, epic or better.

Developers' notes: three ways to play, three ways to collect. The Tracker lives outdoors, the Dealer lives off the other players, the Augur lives off his boosters.

Achievements and titles

  • 3 new achievements (193 in all), one for each last talent, earned the first time it works.
  • Each gives its prestige title: Master of the Hunt, Master of Contracts and Oracle.

Other changes

  • Your specialization shows in your tooltip and on your profile, for you and for the other players.
  • A booster can now hold up to 12 cards (7 in dungeons and raids), and a batch of contracts up to 14 new cards: the stage lays them out on two rows.
  • The guided tour of the album presents the new Talents tab.

Developers' notes: all the collector levels you earned so far count. If you are already high level, dozens of points wait for you from your first login.
